Blainville-Boisbriand Armada eliminates the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in Game 7


The Acadie-Bathurst Titan are hanging up their skates for another season following a devastating 7 - 1 loss to the Armada in Game 7 of the QMJHL quarterfinals on Tuesday, April 18th. 

The Armada took an early lead, scoring two goals in the first period followed by four unanswered goals in the second.

Zachary Malatesta foiled the Armada's shut-out though, scoring a goal in the final minutes of the third period, assisted by Rodrigo Abols.

Titan goaltender Anthony Dumont-Bouchard stopped 29 shots.

With the playoffs now behind them, the Titan say "so long" to three of its senior players who have now graduated from the Q-League:  Zachary Malatesta, Rodrigo Abols, and Christophe Boivin.

Malatesta recorded eight goals and 20 assists with a plus-25 rating since joining the Titan back in December.

Abols ended up on the Titan's roster back in October and had 18 goals, 32 assists with a plus 16 rating.

Christophe Boivin, meanwhile, finishes his career with the Titan with 102 goals, 117 assists, with 30 power play goals since joining the Titan in 2013.

He played a total of 255 games with the Titan and is ranked 5th all-time for games played, third all-time in assists, fifth all-time in points, and seventh all-time in power play goals.

Elsewhere in QMJHL playoff action last night, Chicoutimi advances to the semi-final round after beating  Rouyn-Noranda 4 - 3 in overtime in their quarter-final game seven.
