Campbellton hires Quebec consulting company to help revitalize its downtown core
Campbellton has hired a Quebec consulting company to help revitalize its downtown.
Rues Principales, known for its work in Caraquet, will begin gathering information this summer to help with recommendations focused on community mobilization, economic development, and marketing.
Mayor Stephanie Anglehart-Paulin says more can be done to make the area more friendly and that the downtown needs to be transformed from, what she calls a 'parking lot heaven' into something beneficial for both citizens and merchants.
She says the the revitalization process will officially get underway in the fall.
The $50,000 study will be paid for by the municipality, however the mayor adds the city will investigate the possibility of grants to offset associated costs.
