Canada-wide arrest warrant issued for Bathurst man

A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for 36-year-old Zachariah Russell of Bathurst, who could be in the Chaleur area, and is wanted in connection with a stabbing in Gloucester Junction.

Police received a report of a man being stabbed several times outside a home on Gloucester Junction Road shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The victim was taken to hospital, treated for his injuries, and released, and police say the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.

Russell has been charged with aggravated assault, two counts of uttering threats, and mischief.

He's described as around 6'2" and 210 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

He has several tattoos including a skull with a snake coming out of it on his right forearm, a skull on his left shoulder, and a skull on the left side of his neck.

Anyone who sees Russell is asked not to approach him and to call 911 immediately, and anyone with information on his whereabouts can also contact Bathurst RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
