Canadian Red Cross assisting couple after Canterbury Fire
Disaster volunteers with the Canadian Red Cross are assisting two adults after a fire in Canterbury on Saturday.
The Red Cross says two adults lost their house and belongings to a fire in the rural community of Canterbury, 30 km south of Woodstock.
The fire at 15 Dorrington Road was spotted by a passer-by around 5:45 a.m.
The aid agency says its volunteers have arranged emergency lodging and meals for the couple while they wait for a damage assessment by insurers to be completed.
No one was injured in the fire as the couple was away from the home at the time.
