(Submitted/Canadian Red Cross)

The Canadian Red Cross says ten people have been displaced by a fire on Kingsclear First Nation early this morning.

The fire was reported around 6:30 a.m. and heavily damaged a duplex.

The aid agency says the Kingsclear Band Council is providing emergency lodging and Red Cross volunteers have arranged emergency purchases like clothing and food for an expectant couple with five children aged from 2 to 10, as well as a woman and her son and an adult male.

The Canadian Red Cross says one man was sent to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation and one child and the pregnant woman are being checked at hospital as a precaution.
