13 people have been displaced by a fire at a Bathurst apartment building Monday.

The Canadian Red Cross says the fire was reported around 9:30 a.m. and caused extensive damage to the 11-unit building.

Volunteers arranged emergency lodging and meals for ten tenants and will be assisting some with clothing purchases and other basics.

The aid agency says two people were taken to hospital but the extent of their injuries was not released.
