CBDC Chaleur Inc. holds 15th 'Chaleur: My Home, My Future!' event

Several young adults got the chance to rediscover the potential and great opportunities the Chaleur region has to offer over the weekend.

CBDC Chaleur Inc. held its 15th 'Chaleur: My Home, My Future!', an initiative that aims to repatriate youth and promote economic development by encouraging the creation of new business and job opportunities.

Executive director Denis Roy says more than 252 young people have taken part in the program since it began, with approximately half having found a job in their respective field or having started a business.

The program targets those who are from the region and are currently enrolled in their final year of post-secondary studies, providing them an opportunity to attend workshops showing it's possible to have a good like here.

Thirteen young professionals attended the event, demonstrating an interest in returning to the Chaleur region to pursue their career.

By attending the event, CBDC's Isabelle Arseneau says delegates often discover local job opportunities not necessarily advertised.
