Charges laid following home invasion on the Esgenoopetitj First Nation
A 49-year-old man is facing charges in a violent home invasion robbery on a New Brunswick First Nation.
The RCMP says a man was reported to entered a home on the Esgenoopetitj First Nation on Thursday wearing a ski mask.
Police say the homeowner suffered minor injuries when he was assaulted during an attempt to steal prescribed pills from the resident.
They say Weldon Kimberley Ward of the First Nation has been charged with multiple offences including break, enter and theft and assault with a weapon.
