City of Bathurst starts new not-for-profit company
The City of Bathurst has started a new not-for-profit company.
Council began the incorporation process at a special public meeting on Thursday morning.
It's name hasn't been determined yet, however mayor Paolo Fongemie says it will support and promote wellness, sports, and arts initiatives for citizens.
Fongemie says it could also deal with partners and projects relating to future renewable energy initiatives.
The company will be administered by three lawyers from Moncton until its bylaws are created and its board of directors put in place.
The move is the first of a three phase plan, however Fongemie says steps two and three can't be divulged at this time.
