Closure and reclamation work at Brunswick Mine site right on schedule, Glencore says
Glencore says its right on scheduled for closure and reclamation work at the former Brunswick Mine near Bathurst.
The demolition and removal of buildings and the capping of shafts has been completed while most of the tailings area has been covered.
Glencore's Rick Schwenger says the company expects to build a short ditch and finish covering the tailings area this year and that reclamation work is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.
Schwenger says there will be ongoing water collection and treatment at the site for a number of years.
The work is in accordance with Glencore's closure plan submitted to the provincial government.
