Crime remains steady in 2017, B.N.P.P. reports

The BNPP says instances of crime in its coverage area remained relatively steady in 2017.

At its annual general meeting earlier this week, Chief Charles Comeau reported that automobile accidents increased slightly, from 115 in 2016 to 120 in 2017, while officers handed out 769 tickets, 45 more than the previous year.

The force also decided against expanding its coverage area.

Instead it will turn its attention to a study by the Chaleur Regional Service Commission on creating a regional police force.
