Dalhousie inks land deal with company looking to develop seniors apartments

Dalhousie's plan to give free land to developers as part of its 'Open for Business' program appears to be paying off.

The town's council signed an agreement Monday to transfer four parcels of land, near Bujold and Chaleur Street, to EMD Development Inc.

The company plans to build 16 apartment units for seniors on the land that includes a youth soccer field and baseball diamond.

The town expects the new development will result in seniors staying in Dalhousie longer rather than move to neighbouring municipalities.
