Dieppe man faces charges including attempted murder, sexual assault, forcible confinement

A 22-year-old man is facing a number of charges, including attempted murder, sexual assault, and forcible confinement, following a home invasion in Dieppe.

The RCMP received a call from a home in the Dover Road area in Dieppe shortly before noon on Monday after a woman had been stabbed.

The victim was taken to hospital with police say are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The RCMP's Police Dog Services were called in to help with the search and a man was arrested a short time later.

Luc Nowlan of Dieppe also faces charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, break and enter, wearing a disguise with the intent to commit an offence, uttering threats, mischief, and failure to comply with an undertaking.

He appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody, pending his next court appearance on May 21st.
