Environment Canada projects heavy rainfall for Chaleur region
Freezing rain and rainfall warnings for the Chaleur region have resulted in a day off for students in the Anglophone North and Fracnophone Northeast school districts as well as at CCNB-Bathurst.
Environment Canada says to freezing rain is expected to change to rain Tuesday afternoon and end sometime in the evening.
The department says a total rainfall amount between 25mm and 40mm is possible and that it could combine with melting snow runoff.
It warns heavy downpours could result in flash floods, water pooling on roads, as well as localized flooding in low-lying areas.
