Family of four displaced by Beechwood Fire

The Canadian Red Cross says a family of four has been displaced by a fire in the rural community of Beechwood.

In a press release, the Canadian Red Cross says the fire at 9945 Highway 105 was reported early this morning and destroyed the two-story farmhouse.

The aid agency says the couple with two young children has made arrangements to stay with nearby friends for now, and will meet with disaster volunteers from Woodstock Monday afternoon to help with emergency purchases like winter clothing, food and other essentials.

The Canadian Red Cross says the delay in meeting with the family is due to inclement weather conditions at the time of the fire and the additional snow forecast to continue into early Monday.

There were no injuries reported.
