Federal & N.B. governments invest over $1M to improve efficiency of Miscou seafood processor
The New Brunswick and Federal governments are teaming up to help improve a Miscou seafood processing facility's efficiency.
Miscou Fish Products was destroyed by fire back in May and a decision was made to rebuild and acquire state-of-the-art processing equipment and implement innovative processes to bring the company at the forefront of quality standards and automation to meet market demand for seafood products.
On Friday, the governments announced a repayable contribution of just over $1 million to help Miscou Fish Products and the Canadian Crab Packers Association reach those goals.
Acadie-Bathurst MP Serge Cormier says the project is expected to create jobs that were lost due to the fire and contribute the the region's economic development.
