Federal PC leadership candidate accuses rival of vote-rigging and fraud
(CP) - Celebrity businessman Kevin O'Leary is accusing one of his rivals in the Conservative leadership race of engaging in vote-rigging and fraud.
In a statement, O'Leary says another campaign is violating party rules by signing up fake members using untraceable prepaid credit cards.
Two sources not tied to O'Leary tell The Canadian Press that it appears Maxime Bernier's campaign is the one under scrutiny.
The alleged scheme involves members of the Ontario P-C party being signed up for the federal Tories, possibly without their knowledge.
