Few people lighting up in NB says Statistics Canada

A new report suggests there are fewer tobacco users in New Brunswick than in the rest of the country.

The Statistics Canada survey found a smoking rate of 17.4 per cent in New Brunswick, just bellow the Canadian average of 17.7 per cent.

The survey counted people aged 12 and older who smoked either daily or occasionally in 2015.

Newfoundland and Labrador had the highest smoking rate among the Atlantic provinces at 24.4 per cent.
