Fisheries and Oceans Canada maintains mandatory catch-and-release measures in Atlantic Canada

Recreational salmon anglers have yet another season of catch-and-release only ahead of them.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada announced a fourth hook-and-release only season on Friday as returning salmon numbers failed to meet conservation targets.

The measures cover all waterways in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and P.E.I.

Anglers in those province's are upset that those fishing the Quebec side of the Restigouche and Matapedia are still being issued salmon tags.
