'Flags of Remembrance' to be flown in Bathurst this fall

128 Canadian flags will line the Causeway Bridge in Bathurst next fall in an effort to pay tribute to veterans and raise some much needed money for the local Legion.

Each of the 'Flags of Remembrance' represents 1,000 men and women who either died or went missing in action.

Bathurst native and Veterans Voices of Canada's New Brunswick representative Jordan Chiasson says citizens will be able sponsor flags or honour plaques in memory of local veterans and hopes the initiative will become an annual event.

The city will contribute to the initiative by helping to set up and take down flags as well as identify local veterans for recognition.

The flags will be on display from September 22nd to November 12th.
