Former New Brunswick P.C. candidate pleads guilty to campaign financing violations
An unsuccessful candidate in the 2016 New Brunswick Progressive Conservative leadership race has pleaded guilty to campaign financing violations.
Elections New Brunswick says former MP Mike Allen has pleaded guilty to knowingly accepting a contribution provided in contravention of the Political Process Financing Act.
His campaign treasurer Charles Wright pleaded guilty to the same charge while Allen's wife, Jennifer Leduc Allen, pleaded guilty to exceeding the legal contribution limit of six-thousand dollars.
Allen and Wright agreed to pay a fine of 10-thousand dollars each, while Leduc Allen was fined 52-hundred dollars.
