Francophone North East School District discusses numerous items with Education Minister at AGM
The Francophone North East School District filled New Brunswick's education minister in on its upcoming projects and 'wish list' at its annual general meeting on Wednesday.
Board president Ghislaine Foulem says Brian Kenny was filled in on a number of topics including mid-life projects for ESN in Bathurst and Polyvalente W.-A Losier in Tracadie.
Foulem expects there will be funds earmarked in the district's upcoming budget for the start-up and continuation of the projects.
But Foulem says an expansion of the near 40 year old Marguerite Bourgeois school in Caraquet is the district's top capital priority for the coming year.
The board also discussed the role it will play in early childhood initiatives relating to the federal government.
Community use of infrastructure, the shortage of teachers in the near future, as well as the remuneration of board members were also discussed.
The district says the meeting with Kenny was fruitful and focused on collaboration.
