Freezing rain for New Brunswick today
A Freezing Rain Warning is in effect for the vast majority of New Brunswick.
Environment Canada says freezing rain mixed at times with ice pellets will spread across the province, with most areas likely to see several hours of freezing rain before temperatures rise above freezing.
Forecasters say the precipitation will change over to rain once temperatures clear the freezing mark.
The weather agency warns icy conditions will linger into the afternoon over northern regions, but in Charlotte County, the freezing rain should be limited to inland regions.
A cold front is expected to arrive in the province later today, which will cause temperatures to plummet to well below freezing by Saturday morning.
Environment Canada warns surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may become icy and slippery and are cautioning drivers to adjust driving to the road conditions.
