Government of Canada announces judicial appointment in the province of New Brunswick

A new judge has been appointed to the Court of Queen's Bench of New Brunswick.

Attorney General Jody Wilson-Raybould announced today that Marie-Claude Belanger-Richard, Q.C. is appointed a judge of the Court of Queen's Bench of New Brunswick, Family Division in Saint John.

A Department of Justice press release says Belanger-Richard will replace Justice R. L. Tuck who passed away on January 27, 2018.

Belanger-Richard was appointed under the new judicial application process introduced in October 2016, which emphasizes transparency, merit and diversity and aims to ensure the appointment of jurists who meet the highest standards of excellence and integrity.
