Grits to introduce federal budget later this month

(CP) - The Trudeau government will unveil its 2017 budget in a couple of weeks and it looks like the Liberals will be sticking to their playbook of deficit spending to spur economic growth.

Finance Minister Bill Morneau says the document coming March 22nd will continue along a deficit-fuelled spending path aimed at spurring job creation and stimulating the economy.

When asked directly about economic risks related to the new Trump administration in the U-S, Morneau insisted that Ottawa will continue building on the plan it started laying out last year.

Corporate and personal tax cuts, protectionist Trump policies including a border tax, and a renegotiated North American Free Trade Agreement all pose economic dangers to Canada.
