House of Commons discusses a number of reforms
(CP) - The Liberal government faced some pushback as the House of Commons discussed a proposal for reforms like electronic voting.
Government House leader Bardish Chagger was peppered by opposition M-Ps, but responded by saying the goal of the changes would be to modernize the way the Commons works.
Another proposed change would be setting up a special session for M-Ps to direct all questions directly to the Prime Minister.
The Opposition claims the suggestion lays the groundwork for the P-M to only have to show up in the Commons once a week.
Chagger also said she wants her paper to be discussed by the procedures committee, but Commons committees are supposed to be free to set their own agendas.
