Impaired driving charges laid during long weekend traffic enforcement initiative
A traffic enforcement initiative over the Labour Day long weekend has led to impaired driving charges against two people.
RCMP say one of them was stopped after driving 176 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.
The operation was conducted by Tracadie and Neguac RCMP between Tracadie and Lower Newcastle.
Police say seventeen tickets and four warnings were also issued among the 200 vehicles that were stopped.
Two other drivers were found to be driving with suspended licences and charged.
