Janeville-Bertrand road improvement would be viable, Tory leader says
Tory leader Blaine Higgs says stakeholders in the region need to work together to complete a section of Route 11 from Janeville to Bertrand.
Speaking at a Greater Bathurst Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting on Tuesday, Higgs says the project would be viable and would also be an asset for the economic development of local communities.
He says it's also important to look at how smaller communities can be connected to the province's major highways to allow businesses to set up shop there rather than in big cities.
Meanwhile, Higgs says countering the out-migration of Chaleur region youth would require several solutions, including the creation of sustainable and desirable jobs.
