Lack of quorum results in cancelled council meeting in Tracadie
Tracadie's mayor had to cancel the town's council meeting on Monday due to councillor attendance.
Six councillors in all were absent, meaning there were not enough of them present to vote on council business.
Tensions have been running high within the council for the past few months and the Acadie-Nouvelle reports that it's unknown weather the absence of so many councillors was a result of conflicting schedules or a coordinated act.
A new procedural by-law and the development of a subdivision were to be discussed, however those matters will now be put on the agenda for the next meeting.
