Lamèque and Miscou to vote on their future
Residents of ten northeastern New Brunswick service districts will cast ballots in May in a plebiscite to merge into one community.
Local Government Minister Serge Rousselle says a successful vote would allow the town of Lameque, the village of Sainte-Marie-Saint-Raphael and neighbouring service districts to work together to ensure their long-term economic and social prosperity.
Advanced polls will be held May 6 with the regular voting taking place on May 15.
Residents should receive their individual voter information cards in the mail the week of May 1.
