Man charged in Dalhousie standoff gets two years behind bars

A Dalhousie man charged following a standoff with police in January has been sentenced to two years behind bars.

48 year old Claude Joseph Bernard pleaded guilty to ten charges in April, including uttering threats, using a weapon to threaten, and threatening to burn down a home.

On Monday, the court heard that Bernard pointed what turned out to be a paintball gun at another individual following a dispute about missing marijuana.

Bernard is also banned from owning firearms for 10 years and has been ordered to provide authorities with a DNA sample.
