RCMP say a 28-year-old man from Woodstock is dead after the tow truck he was driving crashed Thursday night.

Officers received a report around 10:30 p.m. of a single vehicle crash on Highway 2 near Mazerolle Settlement.

Police believe the crash occurred when the driver lost control of his tow-truck and collided with the guardrail before the vehicle rolled onto its roof.

RCMP say the man, who was the only person in the tow truck at the time of the crash, died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Police say their investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

RCMP say the wet roads due to heavy rain may have been a contributing factor.
