Man sought, second man charged in Moncton altercation
Police say a second person has been charged in connection with an incident in the Whitney Avenue and Argyle Street area of Moncton last week, while a person of interest is still being sought.
Officers responded to Whitney Avenue on January 30, around 10:15 p.m. and found three men who had been injured.
Police say one of the men had suffered a gunshot wound and all three have since been released from hospital.
RCMP say a fourth man was seen running from the scene and police believe a fifth person may have been involved.
Police say 54-year-old Stanley Smith of Moncton appeared in court yesterday and was charged with aggravated assault, remanded into custody and will return to court this afternoon for a bail hearing.
RCMP say they are still seeking 44-year-old Marcel Prevost, a person of interest they would like to speak to in connection with the investigation.
Prevost is described as 6'2" tall and weighing 216 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
