Memorial Cup to make stop in Bathurst as part of 100th anniversary tour
Chaleur region hockey fans will get a chance to see the coveted Mastercard Memorial Cup this weekend.
The Memorial Cup is celebrating its 100th anniversary and will visit each community with a major junior hockey team, including Bathurst.
Mayor Paolo Fongemie says a number of local organizations will get to view the cup on Thursday and Friday, before it ends up at the KC Irving Centre on Saturday afternoon when the Acadie-Bathurst Titan host the Halifax Mooseheads in a nationally televised game.
The cup is awarded to the top CHL team each season.
