Minimal impaired driving arrests over holiday season in Chaleur region
It appears people may finally be getting the message that there are safer alternatives to getting behind the wheel after drinking.
Over the holiday season the BNPP logged zero arrests related to drunk driving while Cst. Jeff Chiasson with the Bathurst Police Force tells our news room officers with his department arrested one individual for impaired driving New Year's Eve.
The North-East District RCMP, who cover Saint Quentin to Miscou to Doaktown made five arrests related to impaired driving.
Chiasson says extra patrols along with transportation alternatives like taxis, friends, and Operation Red Nose seem to make people think twice before getting behind the while after a few drinks.
