Minister denies request to place Tracadie in provincial trust, suggests mayor resigns
New Brunswick's Environment and Local Government minister says Tracadie's mayor should resign if he can't bring order to his municipality.
The Acadie-Nouvelle reports that mayor Denis Losier recently asked to province to put his municipality under government trust, without first consulting with council, saying its current council is 'divided' and experiencing a general toxic environment.
But Environment and Local Government minister Jeff Carr says that's not going to happen and that if Losier can't resolve the 'crisis' he should step down.
Carr says Losier was elected to lead his citizens and that he needs to bring people together and find a way to move forward.
