More ATV, snowmobile-related deaths in N.B. than anywhere else in Canada
There have been more ATV and snowmobile fatalities in New Brunswick than anywhere else in Canada.
Since 2012, there have been at least 64 deaths with several being caused by losing control, striking trees, and rollovers.
Most of the deaths were ATV-related and CBC reports most victims of off-road crashes are men with a median age of 43.
Alcohol was considered a factor in at least 59 cases, however that number could be higher.
In all cases, at least a quarter of the victims were not wearing helmets.
