More than 60 tickets issued in Chaleur Region during targeted enforcement operations

Police in the Chaleur Region are cracking down on dangerous driving habits.

Last week officers with the RCMP, Bathurst Police Force, and the New Brunswick Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unite teamed up to target common traffic offences:  using held-held electronic devices while driving and not wearing a seatbelt.

In all nearly 60 tickets were issued for those offences.

Tickets were also issued for not having valid insurance and driving while suspended while two vehicles were towed.

Mounties say targeted enforcement operations will continue all summer, with the objective of reducing and preventing dangerous driving behaviours.
