Mounties arrest man following theft from McAdam gun shop

A 29-year-old man has been arrested after an alarm went off at The Gun Dealer in McAdam, N.B.

RCMP were called to the business on Harvey Road around 4 a.m. Monday and say several suspects fled in a vehicle and on foot into the woods.

Police arrested the Lakeville man a short time later in a wooded area behind the store, and he's been released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.

There's no word on what charges he's facing.

RCMP say it's believed no firearms were stolen, though the suspects did steal ammunition and a gun case.

Part of Route 3 between McAdam and Harvey was closed as part of the police investigation.

The investigation is continuing.
