N.B. and Quebec company reach settlement over controversial cancellation of snow plow deal
A Quebec company and the New Brunswick government have reached an out-of-court settlement pertaining to a cancelled snow plow contract.
The company sued the province after it cancelled a half-a-million-dollar contract to purchase snow plow equipment last June.
The contract was cancelled when it was revealed a New Brunswick company was passed up for the contract because its bid came in $1,600 higher than the bid from Quebec.
Tory transportation and infrastructure critic Jeff Carr says that, based on economic factors, there was a clear benefit of having the deal awarded to the New Brunswick company.
Details of the settlement have not been revealed.
