N.B. government says it will join contract talks involving 4,100 nursing home workers

New Brunswick's social development minister says the province will join contract negotiations involving 41-hundred nursing home workers.

However, Dorothy Shephard says with negotiations ongoing it would be inappropriate to discuss any further details at this time.

The union had called on the province to join the talks if it wanted a resolution to the lengthy dispute.

Contract talks are resuming after the province won a 10-day court injunction against any job action by CUPE members at 45 locations.
