N.B. Human Rights Commission releases updated Guideline on Sexual Harassment

An updated Guideline on Sexual Harassment has been released by the New Brunswick Human Rights Commission (NBHRC).

The guideline is based upon relevant decisions by boards of inquiry, tribunals, and courts and aims to help people understand their rights and responsibilities under the province's Human Rights Act.

It includes examples and explanations of what constitutes sexual harassment, quid pro quo, a poisoned work environment, signs of unwelcomeness, and intersectional sexual harassment.

NBHRC commission chair Nathalie Chiasson says they know that many incidents of sexual violence are still underreported, especially sexual harassment, so it's important that people know there is help available.
