N.B. Premier predicts political blowback for P.M. if carbon tax in place at election time
New Brunswick's premier predicting that political blowback awaits Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in the Maritimes if there's still a carbon tax in place when the fall election rolls around.
Blaine Higgs says the federally imposed tax would hit New Brunswick harder than any other province.
Higgs has been vocal in his opposition of the tax and New Brunswick has been granted intervener status in a legal challenge against Ottawa by Ontario and Saskatchewan.
Other provinces have had carbon pricing plans in place for sometime, without economic catastrophe.
