NB Power seeks public input for 25 year energy supply plan

NB Power is seeking public input as it maps out its energy supply plan for the next 25 years.

The utility's Integrated Resource Plan 2017 is to be submitted to the province and the Energy and Utilities Board later this year.

The public is being asked for priorities around clean energy, affordability and customer options.

Officials say the plan will explore, among other things, options to meet projected electricity demand while ensuring at least 40 per cent is from renewable energy sources, and ensuring the utility provides affordable, reliable and safe electricity for all New Brunswickers.

NB Power is required to submit an Integrated Resource plan to the EUB every three years.

Feedback will be sought online and through a community dialogue session during the month of April with a deadline of May 15.
