NB Public Prosecution Services seeks judicial review in Michel Vienneau case

New Brunswick's Public Prosecution Services will seek a judicial review in the case of two Bathurst police officers who had been charged in the shooting death of Tracadie businessman Michel Vienneau in 2015.

The charges against Constables Patrick Bulger and Mathieu Boudreau were dropped earlier this year after a judge ruled the prosecution failed to make its case after a preliminary hearing.

Prosecution Services says the judge committed a jurisdictional error by failing to consider all relevant evidence.

Public Prosecution Services says it will offer no further comment on the matter as it is before the courts.

The City of Bathurst says it, nor its police department, can comment on the matter until proceedings have been completed.
