NB student a finalist in national 'Doodle for Google' competition

A nine-year-old boy from New Brunswick has been put on Google's map, so to speak.

Grade 4 student Wesley Babin is one of 12 finalists in a national ``Doodle for Google'' competition that could have his creation featured on google-dot-ca for a day.

Officials with Google Canada say they were blown away by his 3-D metal sculpture made from bicycle gears and metal gadgets he found around the house.

More than 11-thousand students in grades K to 12 entered the competition to redesign the Google logo to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday, with the winner being decided early next month.
