NBTA not surprised by latest education assessment results

The New Brunswick Teachers Association says results of the latest student assessment come as no surprise.

The report card on the province's education system shows a number of students are failing to hit targets.

President Guy Arseneault says the NBTA has been telling the government for years that the education system's needs outweigh resources given to meet them.

Education Minister Brian Kenny meanwhile, says there needs to be improvement to set students up for success.

The Bathurst-West-Bersford MLA says the province's new education plans include mechanisms to spark change in the right direction.
