New 'D-Day Heritage Minute' to be unveiled in Miramichi this week

The Anglophone North School District will honour the legendary North Shore Regiment in Miramichi on Tuesday as it kicks of its 2019 Juno 2019 project.

Several students from district will travel to France later this month to learn about, and mark the 75 anniversary of the historic D-Day landing.

The district will celebrate community partnerships and academic excellence in preparation for the trip to Normandy, where the students will walk in footprints of the Regiment.

Meanwhile, Historica Canada will be there to give a sneak peek of a new 'D-Day Heritage Minute'.

The production follows the journey of one company from the North Shore on June 6th, 1944.

It will officially be released on May 30th.

The event will take place at James M. Hill High School in Miramichi.
