New 'Heritage Minute' depicts Acadian expulsion though eyes of a mother
A new Heritage Minute by Historica Canada depicts the expulsion of the Acadians by the British more than 260 years ago.
The vignette portrays the deportation through the eyes of an Acadian mother.
More than 10-thousand Acadians were removed from the Maritimes during the expulsion between 1755 and 1763.
The release of the vignette yesterday coincides with the Acadian World Congress in New Brunswick and P-E-I which runs until August 24th.
