New name being considered for North-Eastern NB municipality

It's been about two years since the communities of Eel River Crossing and Dundee merged with surrounding local service districts to form a single municipality, and now community leader are considering a new name.

Over the past few weeks, a survey was sent to residents with three potential new names:  Eel River-Dundee, Dundee-Eel River or the status quo Eel River Crossing.

Mayor Denis Savoie tells the Acadie-Nouvelle that the choices are similar to the present names to maintain the communities' identities.

He says citizens are also being invited to help come up with a new municipal slogan.
